Kawhia - Week 2
Kawhia is a small town with a population of 500-1000 about 50Km below raglan on the West Coast of North Island, NZ.
Some of the sand dunes here were converted into forests with tracks in them, right beside the sea and i love going jogging there yesterday.
In fact, yesterday, i was trusted to go running with the GP's dog Bounce around the forest-sea area which was a high. It was cool having a dog running ahead of me, disappearing and appearing at times, especially if i call out to him.
To run both forest tracks AND on the sand by the beach in one run, everyday.
Now thats a high = )
I've also been helping out a little at the school, went in yesterday to play some piano and flute to children and teach them about the flute. today when i went back today to help with the immunisations, the kids all said hi to me!! =P
Hehe. Fun things.
Missed their circus today tho cos i was visiting a maori diabetic patient. oh well.
You know, i would really love it here - if i had friends here too...
But otherwise - when the events of the day die down, me, facing my room without internet/phone ... by myself
All i can do is sleep.
I miss you, my family and friends =)
One of my flatmates is coming down on Friday, hehe, looking fw to it!! = )
My family - i need to take you out to Kawhia someday!!! The seclusion and small town-ness -- well, its something i didnt' know still existed in nz!
When i get back i'll try post some pics.
