Waikato River
Finally I took a run along Waikato River.
I did a little bit of it before when i did the Loaded Hog 5km race before.
Today's weather was beautiful. It was the hottest weather we've had in a while, coupled with a bright clear blue sky - its a shame to spend it indoors.
So after another wallet-thinning episode at the Kathmandu shop today (hey, i need the daypack and stuff i bought and most of the things i got were on 50% discount! It was worth it...) I decided to give my tummy a thinning episode also.
So I drove to park my car at hamilton gardens - and there was millions of cars there already! Couldn't find a park...so i went out and eventually found a park at Gate 2. The carpark smelt of Camelias since it was Camelia gardens...
Anyhows i set out running (albeit very very slowly) and went along the river...
It was beautiful. Wish i had my camera with me.
And its seriously like a more than 10km walkway that stretch across hamilton. I kept running and running and finally i gave up when i got to the Te rapa area.
AFter checking the map when i got home, i realised that the path would have ended if i continued for another 1-2km or so. Damn.
But it was a great run. Not much pple around, beautiful weather (the kind i love - not hot at all, yet not cold, gentle wind, clear blue sky)...
It revived my appreciation of my year in Hamilton.
Its going for runs like this ...e.g. the lake, the river...that makes living in Hamilton worth it.
Glad to get the freezing winter over and done with!! = )
As I was jogging along, enjoying the scenery, the air, the peacefulness, the pretty houses along the river...
I realised.
I realised that the only thing that will make this more complete, is to share this with my loved ones.
I want to take mum and show her this amazing walk, this beautiful weather ...
sTroll along, chat, enjoy life.
Otherwise, what else, is life about?
