Auckland will always be my home
As I flicked through a tourist book of NZ, I realised that NZ will always be my home.
All the places I've been to, travelled to, stayed at.
Things I've had the privilege to experience.
I am still a foreigner in Australia, in Taiwan, in Singapore.
As I flicked through the North Island section,
Yes - I've been to all the sights around Auckland.
I've driven past many of the others
Tauramanui
Bridal veil falls
Te Kuiti
My country placements have given me a sense of belonging -
Raetihi
Kawhia
experienced live that many Kiwi's may not have done.
I've always hesitated when people ask where I'm from
Externally I have a look of someone from a chinese ancestry
Internally I grew up in NZ.
Maybe not as much as people who were born here
Maybe I am not into the typical sports, rugby, cricket, sailing
But NZ, is the only place, where I can feel like a local.
I feel a lot of negatives regarding auckland right now
But I have a feeling - in the end - I may very well return home...
