Moving on
Found myself driving home from rehearsal
watching
as the clocked turned twelve
past the westgate bridge
the bright lights of melbourne promised
a new day
beginning
I think
think of my friends
my friends who have moved on
moved on with their lives
their lives with a new religion
new religion meets new partner
new partner becomes a new fiance
new fiance transforms into a new spouse
new spouse creates a new pregnancy
new pregnancy brings a new child
new child completes the new family
new family climbs the staircase of life
life
leaving me
at the
bottom
looking
up
the radio played
"you have changed so much
that I don't know
if I can call you
and tell you I care"
I try
but when I watch
every single one
go through the change
never looking back
i hate
being left behind
but at the same time
i want you to want
to be in my life
if I call you
i don't know if you'd understand
that you
are the thorns
of my blood red rose
