EuRo Steamboat

The most common social event I have these days are gathering with friends to catch up, eat, chat, share events in our lifes (i.e. bitch), gossip.



The Saturday after nights saw me sleeping the whole day and then making it to Tigg's house for a steamboat.







Steamboats are very social events. They are also very filling. Everyone brings food to cook in the big pot in the middle. Food disappear down our guts and is being piled back into the pot.



Tigg's special 泡菜 (kimchi) base soup was simple, yet delicious. I drank bowls and bowls of the soup. Steamboat of cus is incomplete without the mixture of bbq sauce (沙茶醬) and raw egg yolk (for those of you who haven't tried that before, its delicious). Ideally there's also a sprinkling of spring onion as well but we didn't bring any. And then you dip the hot food into the cold sauce and it makes the food warm, tasty and delicious.

The various type of "balls" - cuttlefish, fish, pork, crabmeat, prawn...

Thinly sliced beef

Tofu - soft, fried, frozen...

Noodle - rice noodles, udon...

Carrots, cabbage...

Delicious.

The abundance of food led to discussions of gluttony.

Camera phone, camera phone, who's got that biggest double chin of all?

Is it me? (man look at that, its not double, its a triple chin...shit)

Tigg's barely visible skin fold...

Wun doesn't even have one...

or jenny's feeble attempt at making one up?

Conclusion - i'm the only one with a substantial double chin.

On that topic tho, my clothes are becoming tighter and tighter. Really really need to control my mouth and appetite.

Increasing the amount of exercise would be ideal too. My fitness has gone down the drain.

Anyhow

Food needs to be enjoyed.

The nite ended with blueberry danish (baked) served with movenpick chocolate ice cream and Tigg's hot chocolate.

Talk about diet eh...
