Sunrise

So i've worked for 31 weeks at Auckland Hospital now.

And i've just discovered.

The only joy of doing a 7:00am ward round in midwinter.

I get to see this

when i look out of my patient's glasswindows.

Acutally my consultant first noticed it after seeing a patient.

Me, i was too engrossed with my nose stuck in some patient's notes scribbing away to notice the purple ban of light creeping across and above rangitoto island.

Our team noted the beautiful sunrise for 1 second before moving on to the next patient.

While we moved to the 13th floor to see our outlier patient, i couldn't stop myself with this sight:

If there's any enjoyment in doing early, early ward rounds,
Its the joy of seeing these sunrises
And the start of a beautiful, shivery, mid winter day.
