Mental age of orthopaedic surgeons
So this racer dude had an accident last week and fractured T3-T4 (=paraplegic), and we operated on him to remove T3 and spinal fusion T1-6
In order to fuse the spine, the surgeons need to put screws into either side of the vertebral bodies and put a rod through those screws, thus stabilising the spine. In order to put the screw in, they dig a hole, then they use this feeler thing (its called a feeler, basically a very thin metal wire-like rod) to feel around the hole to see if there's anything unusual in the hole and to feel what's inside the hole they dug.
The feeler comes in 2 sizes.
I knew they were called feelers, but my consultant would once in a while refer to the smaller one as a Fahey.
So i was like "?????" when he asked me for one
So apparently, he was referring to Dr Fahey of Christchurch, the GP who molested women.
=________________=
And then, they started talking about how the patient, who is now a paraplegic...
"He can't be a loser cos he's always a-head."
................=_________________________=
And then:
"What part of the body does the orthopaedic surgeon use to stop the lift doors from closing?"
....his head because he can't operate without his hands.
