Love Actually

Love Actually IS all around us

That's very true isn't it.

Finished 2nd exam today. What a whole load of bullcrap. Cant believe we have to write about the priniciples of having a Powhiri ( you know, that ceremony you have to go thru before you enter a marae) and describe the step by step analysis of what happens in a powhiri. Jerks...

Anyway, after the exam we all went to have lunch at 277 and ended up at M's place for video. the girls decided to make us watch love actually. Yea its a chick's flick. I din't wana watch it. But i enjoyed it a lot actually. Glad they made us sit and watch. E threatened to glue my eyelids open to watch it...hehe...guess she didnt' need to do that in the end huh.

The story is about these random pple in england and their love stories ard them. There's the prime minister who is single (come on, which prime minister in the world is single b4 they got married and is as young as hugh grant!?!) who is in love with his assistant. (Monica lewinsky...hello....) Then there's a happy family, the couple in middle age, and the guy is getting tempted by his seducing assistant at work. He gave in and bought her a necklace for xmas present only to be found out by his wife. Kinda sad. Then there's this guy who is in love with his best friend's wife. This other man who caught his partner cheating with his brother moved to his nice getaway house in france, and fell in love with his portugese housekeeper. Anyway i wont' go on, but there's lots more love stories and they all interlink with each other at some stage. Its cool and funny at the same time...

I guess this is wat u call a romantic comedy eh? But it doesn't seem very romantic to me. More comedy. Yea i know its centered on love - but the love and the flipside of it, we can see it all ard us. Like - mourning the lost of his wife. Wife having to deal with the hurt of a husband who is on the verge of cheating and trying to be cheerful for the kids and keep the family together. The best friend who is in love with his best friends wife. And then there's other stupid things too like President of united states fighting the prime minister of UK for the girl...=="

But the bottomline i think - Love, actually, is all around us.

When we feel bad, alone, sad...we just hav to look ard us.
Like go to the airport as the movie shows. All those displays of love.
Go to a nice park - see all those couples smooching.
Look at the pple ard you. I'm sure u'll see those couple friends of yours with enough love to make u sick.
Love surrounds us.
